Road dividers are meant to add to the beauty and aesthetic value of the town and ornamental and flowering plants are grown to maintain its beauty. However, in Vasco a road-divider serves an entirely different purpose. The road divider along the F L Gomes Road near the vegetable and fruit market is used for washing/drying sacks.
The sacks are placed on the divider so that when it rains they are washed clean and at the same time get dried when the sun is out.  These sacks given an ugly look to the market area as seen in the photo. The manner in which they have been placed on the dividers can lead to accidents as riders and pedestrians commute along this busy road at the vegetable/fruit market. The concerned authorities should ensure that the road divider is not used for drying sacks. This can be prevented if the civic body plans to plant ornamental plants in this road divider.
