The public is put to a lot of inconvenience because the bus conductors, small traders and shopkeepers refuse to accept Rs 10 coins. It is reliably learnt that this situation prevails only in the State of Goa. Banks in Goa readily accept and exchange these coins and therefore establish the fact that these coins are legal tender.
Will the concerned authorities like the Government of Goa (Finance Department), Reserve Bank of India (Goa branch) and the State Bank of India jointly publish/issue an advertisement in all the leading newspapers of Goa (including Roman script and vernacular) stating that these coins have to be transacted by all.
