Our Traffic cell and RTO department are busy giving fines to the law breakers, who do not wearing helmet, going too fast, without seat belt, talking on mobile phone etc.
But they seem to have forgotten to check the number plates of the two- wheelers and four-wheelers, many which are not according to the traffic and Road transport office rules and specification. The number plate should be clean and clear but we can see many people using the flag of some other countries on their vehicles number plate.
It is also noticed that many people who have just settled down in Goa from neighbouring State are using the picture of Shivaji Maharaj on their two-wheelers and four-wheelers vehicles which is totally against the law. I don’t understand what is the reason behind this and what they want to prove.
I have never seen it before. Perhaps it’s a symbol of some political party? The Shivaji picture sticking habit is increasing day by day because our government does not care about it.
It is often seen that many people keep their vehicles number plate dirty so that police are unable to trace them when they break the law. Sometimes, the number plate is so small that it is not visible. We also notice that in high crime area the number plates are either broken or are missing.
Police department and RTO should be alert and cancel the licence of the violator who is going against the traffic rules and regulations.
I request the traffic police and RTO department to take quick action on the issue of numbers plate which displays the picture of Shivaji and flags of other countries. Also take action against those with missing number plates or those who hide the number plate with the dirt.
Please be careful while driving, Goa is not the same as it were years ago. Please follow traffic rules and don’t drink and drive because you are putting not only your life at risk but also that of other citizens.
