Visiting the Osia commercial arcade which houses the offices of RTO, the Town and Country Planning Department, lawyers’ chambers and various other private offices has become an exercise fraught with danger.
There is a lot of garbage in the corridors besides the stench of animal faeces/urine and waste water; the mildewed walls show signs of damp and are showered with paan/gutka stains. Feral dogs sleeping in the corridors add to anxiety level of users. It is a shame that probably the biggest commercial building in South Goa is in such a shabby state. The Margao Municipal Corporation or the State government should appoint a facility management agency to keep the building which is visited by thousands every day ship shape and the cost incurred should be debited to the tenants/ owners.
