An item was published in the O Heraldo on Monday, 16 October, mentioning the road near Auxilium School is in awful condition under column “Citizen Herald”.
Promptly, we noticed that the repair work had started. The happiness was short-lived as a small area was repaired shoddily.
Even a ditch adjoining was covered and a large area opposite Silveira’s shop remains a nightmare for commuters to drive on. The repair works has been done in a shoddy manner.
The logic behind leaving the large tract of ditches uncovered is also baffling. Such workmanship raises doubts that there are no engineers to supervise. Even a fortnight before a small area was levelled. How many times, man, machinery and material will be moved to the same place?
All these add to unnecessary costs to the exchequer but bring no relief to the citizens. Hope the concerned authority will take note of this to rectify in future to carry out the work in a systematic way.
