Traffic signals play a vital role in controlling the movement of traffic especially at busy road intersections. These traffic signals need to be clearly visible to the vehicular drivers.
It is observed that when the traffic signal is in line with the rising sun or the setting sun it becomes impossible to see whether the red or the green light is on. This can cause confusion in the mind of the vehicular driver, which can even lead to an accident. One such traffic signal is located at the MES junction along the Verna-Dabolim Airport highway.

The traffic signals need to be large in size and installed in big dark boxes so that they are visible against the background of the sunlight.
