For some reason traffic on this stretch of road beginning Socorro Church via Bastora joining the junction at the underpass to Mapusa is increasing by the day.
The road conditions have deteriorated endangering life of the vehicle users travelling via Ambirna, Karem, Vadem and Bastora. Some shoddy works have been done only to eyewash the public, but the lack of common sense and responsibility of the authorities in power is quite evident in the quality of the work done.
Our roads will be done to better quality only when the imported tar from abroad arrives, said an irate villager, with an obvious taunt to the PWD Minister, who had promised when a hue and cry on the potholes everywhere was raised in the last monsoon. Till then it remains to be seen when this road Socorro to Bastora will see the light of the day and the slumbering authorities wake up to fall in line to the safety and protection of precious human life.
