Some civic problems remain unattended as Adpai village celebrates Chaturthi

The five-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival at Adpai village in Ponda Taluka gains great significance. However, while the festival was being celebrated this year, some civic problems remained unattended and the residents as well as visitors faced great inconvenience and trouble.

For instance, tap water was unavailable during daytime. Residents received water only during early morning and night time. Besides, stray cattle continued to proceed along the road thereby causing nuisance for the pedestrians and travellers alike.

Potholes over the road, especially at Tariwada-Adpai caused great hardships for the two-wheeler riders. Further, necessary maintenance work pertaining to streetlights was not undertaken by the Electricity Department. For instance, some of the streetlight fixtures along the Adpai and Durbhat jetties were found non-functional and major stretch of the road was found in darkness during the night. It was also disturbing to note private cars being parked along the narrow roads thereby preventing smooth flow of vehicular traffic. Garbage was also noticed along the Adpai jetty and also behind Shree Datta Mandap.

Last and not the least, many people, especially youth were found moving at this jurisdiction without a face mask.

Local MLA Sudin Dhavalikar needs to get acquainted with the above problems in this village and initiate prompt positive steps to overcome the same at once on top priority. People need to receive necessary relief at all costs.
