As there are lack of public transport facilities in the areas of Ekta Nagar and Ganeshpuri, a transport service to St Xavier’s College, Mapusa is a must. As a result, students who use private buses, to get to the college will have a less problem.
There aren’t many connecting buses and as the college campus is on a steep slope, walking becomes difficult. Students and teachers all choose to walk when there are no scheduled buses from the bus stand to campus at any given time of the day.
Also, teachers do not allow students to enter the classrooms when they are late for classes due to long wait for buses to travel to the college from the Mapusa bus stand, which results to missing of lectures for the allotted day and also not able to fulfil the attendance criteria. I’m looking forward to hearing from the State-owned Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd and also from All Goa Private Bus Owners Association.
