On March 25 evening, a middle-aged man exiting through the revolving gate of Fatorda, Goa’s popular walking track near PJN Stadium, suddenly had a nasty fall in front of many others waiting to use the revolving gate to make their entry. The man, who was helped by others, quickly got up and moved out. However, in the photo it is clear that fault lies with the two steps leading to the revolving gate. The lower one is smaller in width while the top one is broader. Hence anyone exiting from the sides can easily miss the narrow step and fall. Someone in the crowd remarked “God only knows how many more might have been victims of the oversight and lapse by the authorities.”
As we don’t want more walkers to fall we request the authorities (SAG?) to take immediate steps to rectify the situation to prevent further mishaps.
Coming to the “revolving door” the less said the better. Moving in or out through it is a tough task as it hampers the smooth movement of people and here too something should be done about it.
