Subsequent to my letter dated August 5, 2022 with photographs of the unlit streetlights at the western bypass from Verna to SGPDA wholesale market, the power department has taken cognizance of this urgent matter of public importance and made these lights functional as seen in the attached photographs and now it looks like a highway as it should be, well illuminated and a welcome respite to the motorists at night.
Likewise it would be highly appreciated if the same is done to the eastern bypass from Nuvem to Arlem junction. This particular stretch of road is a death trap during night time with the heavy 8 axle trailers and other vehicles using this two lane road with no median.
These heavy vehicles with full beam headlights make driving a nightmare for the faint hearted. Would be obliged if the power department also illuminates this section on priority.
