MARGAO: The people of Kharebandh and those living on the outskirts of Margao city have complained of low pressure water supply in their homes and want relief from the problem as soon as possible.
However, the Assistant Engineer (AE) informed that not only Kharebandh areas but areas in Nuvem, Raia too were affected and complained of low water pressure.
The AE attributed this to the increased use of water these days, possibly due to the onset of monsoon.
In this regard, the people of Ravanfond, Colmorod met the AE Vijay Kudchadkar of PWD, Water Supply and complained to him regarding very low pressure water supply.
Councillor Jaffar Budhani who led the people to the Assistant Engineer said they have been facing the problem of low pressure water for several months now and want an immidiate solution to the same.
A resident of Colmorod said for the past six months poor water pressure has been forcing people to wake up at midnight and fill water for their consumption.
He revealed that some months ago they were told by water department officials to change the line for better supply they had spent a lot of money to do just that and yet there has been no change in the situation.
The AE said the problem was due to the summer months where the consumption was very high, while the supply was static. This has affected almost all areas.
We will soon go to the site to determine the exact reason for the low pressure,” the Assistant Engineer added.
