The day my article entitled “Is there no Aadhar without Aadhaar card” (Citizen Herald, September 4) appeared, I received a call from Herald Publications saying a gentleman named Tolentino Furtado of Directorate of Planning, Statistics and evaluation wants to attend to my complain with immediate effect.
Herald passed me the mobile phone number of the concerned person and as soon as I contacted him and he made sure that someone from the office would attend to my mother at our residence with regard to the correction of the date of birth shortly.
Incidentally, the date were wrongly mentioned on her Aadhaar card, making her 19 years younger to me, which was handled by the Aadhaar centre, Margao.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Directorate of Planning, Statistics and Evaluation worked in such a professional manner that they called me up well in advance to plan a date to sort out the issue.
Accordingly the date was planned and the person handling Aadhaar-related issues attended my mother at out residence at Cuncolim on September 8 and the matter was professionally sorted out.
Thank you, Herald for highlighting the issue. Special thanks to Directorate of Planning, Statistics and Evaluation for their professionalism and I cannot forget to thank the ‘big man’ of Margao Aadhar centre, Pawaskar for showing no concern to what otherwise was a very minor issue.
I wish all the government offices work in such a manner and show some concern to the general public.
