VALPOI: The electric pole stands in a dangerous position for the past six months near the bridge at Barazan village in Valpoi.
Villagers have informed the local electrician and given a complaint to the Assistant Engineer, Electricity Department, Valpoi, yet no action has been taken till date.
According to the villagers, the electric pole is on the main road, near the bus stop and the parking place.
The pole supplies power to the neighbouring Patwal village and villagers have been demanding to replace the old pole which is in bad shape. Villagers point out that around six months ago a vehicle had dashed against the pole, shaking its foundation. Since then the pole stands precariously and villagers fear that it would fall at any time.
We have informed about the issue to our local electrician and also given a complaint to the electricity department, Valpoi, but they have not taken any action yet.
What’s more worrying is that the local electrician has now tied the electric pole in a haphazard manner.
