QUEPEM:  The issue of stray cattle keeps haunting Quepem- Curchorem road with no authority or owner taking responsibility for the same.
The stray cattle roam around freely in the town. Several lives have already been lost and others injured due to the accidents involving stray cattle.  The stray cattle have also lost their lives on the roads after being hit by the vehicles. Situation has worsened on Quepem-Curchorem road, where the stray cattle sit on the road in a group during the day as well as night.  
Xeldem Panchayat Sarpanch Caitan Lima said, “The panchayat has tried to find a solution to this stray cattle menace and has submitted several complaints and written letters to higher authorities and also visited the owners, who having cattle thereby, warning them of the dangerous situation but nothing has changed.” Further, Lima said, “The panchayat will try to find a solution to this issue soon.”
