‘Traditional Goan Vendors market’ in Vasco used only for storage purpose

It was with much fanfare that the ‘Traditional Goan Vendors Market’ in Vasco was thrown open to the general public several months ago. In the past, the market was occupied by fish vendors.

After the fish market was shifted to the new site near the bus-stand the authorities decided to renovate the old fish-market for the traditional Goan vendors. This seemed like a good idea since most of the vendors selling traditional produce were scattered all over the place.

However, now all seems to be back to square one with the vendors occupying the pavement all across the Vasco market and the renovated market converted into a storage place. The authorities concerned need to see to it that all traditional vendors are shifted back to this renovated market.
