Traffic management needed on Ganeshpuri Road

With the constant road digging work for laying of underground cables the common man is subjected to untold misery. Authorities who are taking up the road digging work even in the monsoons now seem to ignore the probable hardship that will be caused to the common man and daily road user.

In fact it is a blessing in disguise that monsoon are delayed else such misery on the common man really shows that the administration is not concerned about the common man. The link road to Siolim passing through Mapusa Housing Board is now become a nightmare for motorists and daily commuters.

Every day in the morning, afternoon and evening due to the road digging work there is so much inconvenience to the people that people have to think 10 times whether it is necessary to go to Siolim.

There is no Traffic Police posted to regulate the traffic, no proper traffic management as a result there is all chaos and anarchy. People reach their destinations quite late in absence of smooth traffic regulation. First and foremost all such road digging works should be banned now in the monsoon as there is water collection in the dug up pits which could be a threat to life, however, since the work is continuing, it is the duty of the government to post Traffic Police to regulate the traffic. The housing board road to Siolim has a steep slope and has witnessed many accidents in the past in which previous lives have been lost.

Is the government asking for more such accidents? Before things go out of hand, the government must ensure that Traffic Police are posted everywhere where ever road digging work is going on and most important is to take action on this Siolim link road from housing board before any untoward incident takes place. Will the Traffic Police, the PWD and Electricity Departments together come and work out a solution?
