It’s almost one year that Varunapuri highway leading to Sada opened to public. However, the highway at Varunapuri junction needs traffic police and signal. The junction is having road coming from Dabolim Airport and road from Vasco port town via Mangoor Hill.
There is also Kendriya Vidyalaya School just near the junction and many school children walk on the said road. The Mormugao Municipal Council and Traffic Cell should come together and find a solution as there are number of accidents and mishaps taken place leading to loss of lives.
Last week, we saw a truck carrying load from Mormugao Port Authority hit a defence person and claiming his life. The road is also constructed with no speed breakers and without signals. The road needs attention to prevent further accidents endangering life. The road from Mangor Hill reaching Varunapuri junction also has kiosks and parking of vehicles on both sides of the road leads to traffic congestion. Hope the authorities will take quick action and save innocent lives with no fault of theirs.
