This is to bring to the notice of the authorities concerned that there is a huge banyan tree near the Valpoi post office. The branches of this tree are dangerously leaning across the road.
The electric wires supplying current to the residential houses in Ward No. 3 of Valpoi Municipal Council are passing below the branches. Due to heavy rains in these days and the mud getting soft, there is every possibility that this banyan tree with the weight of its branches may be uprooted and fall on the electric wires thus causing a lot of damage to human life and property and inconveniencing the residents in the area.
As a responsible citizen, I request the authorities concerned to arrange the cutting of the branches of the above tree in co-ordination with the Electricity Department at the earliest to avoid any mishaps in near future. Hopefully, prompt actions will be initiated at the earliest.
