Two-wheeler riders must mend ways at Tonca-Marcel ferry wharf

PONDA: Commotion and chaos caused by the two-wheeler riders while entering the ferryboat at Tonca, Marcel ferry wharf has been a regular feature these days.

The two-wheeler riders try to rush into the ferry causing obstruction to the four-wheeler and other vehicles drivers, who try to come out from the ferry. It is a usual scene of chaos.

As soon as the ferry from Sarmanas-Bicholim touches the Tonca, Marcel wharf, the bike riders and scooterists rush to enter the ferryboat before the vehicles, which are there in the ferryboat, try to make an exit of the ferryboat at Tonca, Marcel.

It has been observed that the bike riders travelling on ferryboat from Tonca, Marcel to Sarmanas, Bicholim ferry service route always make a rush to get entry into the ferryboat at Tonca that has been causing inconvenience to the vehicle owners, who try to make an exit.

According to Bethki Khandola Village Panchayat Sarpanch Dilip Naik, the bike riders at the Tonca ferry wharf behave in an in-disciplined manner for getting entry into the ferryboat that often causes chaos on the ferryboat and inconvenience to the others.

He said, “It has been often noticed that as soon as the ferryboat from Sarmanas-Bicholim arrives along with the passengers and vehicles at Tonca-Marcel ferry wharf, the bike riders waiting, rush to get entry into the ferryboat which blocks the way of the passengers, cars and other vehicles, which are in the process to make an exit from the ferryboat. This creates chaos as the vehicles in ferryboat cannot get a chance to make an exit for a long time, wasting the time of other commuters. “

Naik demanded that the bike riders should behave in a disciplined manner. He said, “Self-discipline is the only solution to it.”
