The road from the Comba-Margao railway level crossing to the Vidya Vikas Academy and Damodar College turns busy during school/college hours as numerous people drop and pick up students, in addition to other traffic.
There is a small pond by the side of this road, mid-way between the railway level crossing and these institutions, which somewhat poses a hazard both to pedestrians and vehicular traffic especially during peak hours since it is not fenced and offers no protection to vehicles and pedestrians whenever they may inadvertently pass along the edge of this road.
The concerned authorities should seriously consider erecting a suitable fence or a crash barrier along the road section by this pond to protect vehicles/pedestrians from sliding into the pond in the event of any unfortunate incident/accident.
Recently there has been a viral video showing a speeding car jumping through an unfenced section of an over-bridge (in another State) and landing on the roadside beneath, resulting in a fatality and several serious injuries to innocent victims there, who happened to be in the direct line of the flying car.
