Although the electricity department is having an independent maintenance section, work in this regard is found to be unsatisfactory. In some areas streetlight fixtures are found to be out of order. Similarly we notice coconut leaves/dry branches of trees existing over live electrical wires. Recently, a fixture was noticed in a hanging position adjacent to the Adpai ferry wharf in Ponda. Even transformers are found exposed on most occasions. Seen in the picture are creepers hanging over a electrical pole in the vicinity of Shree Betal temple at Queula village in Ponda. It is absolutely necessary for the electricity department to rectify the existing errors at the appropriate time so that normalcy is maintained on a permanent basis. Let us hope the senior officials at the electricity department in Ponda take a note of above matter and initiate prompt favourable action in removing the creepers at the earliest without any further delay.
