Private buses are accustomed to halting every now and then for acquiring/ alighting commuters while proceeding along different routes. As a result, commuters traveling in the bus get delayed in reaching their destinations.
They are ultimately subjected to inconvenience and trouble in the process. Some buses even halt at the sloping roads thereby causing hardships for other travellers proceeding from behind. Buses proceeding from old bus stand in Ponda towards Margao, Sanvordem and Vasco often halt near the post office as also at Tisk. Similarly, buses proceeding from Margao and Sanvordem often halt over the pedestrian crossing situated adjacent to Mahalaxmi shopping complex in the vicinity of old bus stand. This being a narrow road, travellers face great difficulties from time to time. The adjoining picture is a proof in this regard. The RTO authorities as also the Traffic Cell should take a note of above important matter and initiate stern action against buses which are found halting on the main road. Unless the matter is dealt with a firm hand, the existing situation is bound to deteriorate further. Let us hope that needful would be done in this regard in the interest of travellers.
