I would like to draw the attention of the authorities to the urgent necessity for construction of new speed breakers in Chandor – one near Domnic Mendes’ house in Culsabhat, second near the Holy Cross Covatem and the third near the Mascarenhas Welding and Shutter workshop at Covatem.
The old speed breaker next to the residence of Sandir Menezes’ house (road going towards Guddi) needs to be re-constructed. Since the new railway flyover bridge at Chandor is open for traffic, vehicles moving from Sanvordem, Curchorem and Sanguem towards Margao and vice versa has increased.
Fatal accidents have taken place here during the last few days and locals feel that there is an urgent need to put speed breakers to control the reckless driving.
The road is very narrow too and in a bad shape right from Leo’s aqua splash Covatem Chandor towards Curtorim and has to be hot- mixed.
