Valpoi locals demand new ambulances for CHC

VALPOI: Both the ambulances of Valpoi Community Health Centre are broken down for the past several days putting life of the locals at risk during the time of emergency.
Valpoi locals have demanded for new ambulances as they are unable to shift the patients from Valpoi Community Health Centre to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, due to the dilapidated condition of the old ambulances.
“The Valpoi Community Health Centre officials are not ready to repair both the ambulances, as they break down frequently and are too old to repair, because of the charges, which are likely to be much more,” a local said on condition of anonymity.  “There is an urgent need of new ambulances as the patients are suffering a lot due to the absence of ambulance service at Valpoi CHC,” he added.
