The Varca-Sinquetim bridge and its approaches from Sinquetim have suffered due to adverse political warfare related to Benaulim and Navelim constituencies in the last five years. The warfare is so much that the ornamental street lights on this road and on the bridge never saw the light of the day putting the villagers of the nearby villages using this road to a great misery in silent darkness.
The road stretch on the Sinquetim side has become a devil’s haven under the cover of discreet darkness as the street lights never even have blinked in the past five years for reasons for us only to guess. Although now the entire state is proposed to be covered by the LED street lights under the SLNP programme by EESL, villagers of Benaulim and Navelim constituency wonder if the Sinquetim approaches to the bridge and the bridge itself will be also covered under the scheme or excluded once again. Hope the leaders of Benaulim and Navelim constituencies decide what is best solution here!
