The clock tower was built in 1938 by the then Portuguese regime but since no maintenance work has been carried out for several decades this once beautiful clock lies in a state of total disrepair and shambles and presents a sore sight to the city of Vasco. The clock is located at a height of several meters and is prominently visible to all those visiting the market place. The authorities concerned need to carry out the restoration work of this historic tower which is threatening to come down.
