Our elder’s always tell us that fruits and vegetables are good for health and that ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away.’ But do we know what we are eating? Now in Goa chemical-injected apples are been sold in the market.
Recently I purchased a dozen apples in Margao market and found all were injected with chemicals. When I cut it into pieces , I saw that it was spoiled.
We have health department to look in these matters seriously, but nobody seems to be interested in the health of ordinary citizens who consume chemical-injected fruits and vegetables.
I request the government, health minister, directorate of food and drugs to check and take strict action on unscrupulous fruit and vegetable vendors who put the health and lives of Goans at risk by selling chemical-injected fruits and vegetables
