Anyone travelling to Panjim via Chorao roads will bear testimony of the stray cattle menace on the roads. The situation aggravates during monsoon as we find several stray cattle blocking the roads at prime locations in Chorao, which is a hindrance for those using these roads to commute to work.
Recently, as seen in the photo, between 8 pm and 8:30 pm, I saw atleast around 40 to 50 stray cattle blocking the roads on one of the Chorao roads due to which it was difficult to pass by for fear of being hit by the stray cattle as some had even locked horns with each other and an innocent passerby could be seriously injured if accidentally hit by them. Traffic was blocked for nearly half an hour to 45 minutes due to this nuisance. I wonder why the owners of these cattle don’t safely take them to their cowsheds instead of allowing them to loiter on the roads thus risking the lives of innocent people.
The authorities concerned should immediately look into this so as to avoid any untoward incident in such locations.
