We are forced to write this letter to you to expose the apathy shown by our village panchayat, Assolna (Mulleamvaddo). It’s more than a month we have been trying to get attention of our Sarpanch and ward panch about the water logging in this low lying area. All that is needed is … Water drains have to be cleaned up giving a little slope for water to flow. This stagnant water is full of bacterial matter since this area is in the vicinity of bazaar, the higher ground is used as urinals (in absence of toilets) and monsoon water brings all rubbish down and remains stagnated. This is a perfect breeding ground for outbreak of dreadful mosquito borne diseases. Though the sarpanch fixed a site inspection date, he himself sent a message later that he is busy. We hope the Sarpanch and panch members take immediate action before it is too late.
