MARGAO: Frustrated with the inconvenience they face at the Citizen Service Centre for land survey records, the citizens of Margao they face are demanding swift action to rectify the lapses.
Under the banner of ‘Niz Goenkar Fauz’, several citizens submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Land Survey Records outlining the hardships they encounter at the service centre. These grievances range from service delays to the alleged arrogant behaviour of the staff.
Pascoal Costa, the General Secretary of Niz Goenkar Fauz, shared their concerns with reporters after their meeting with the Superintendent of Land Survey Records. He emphasised that the centre’s operations are not aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s vision for digitalisation in India, as citizens continue to face difficulties due to the inefficiency of the Citizen Service Centre.
Costa pointed out that property-related matters often experience delays due to frequent server issues at the centre. Additionally, he mentioned that token numbers are called out arbitrarily, with no proper monitoring in place. Some staff members are observed using their mobile phones during working hours.
Another issue highlighted is the need to visit two different counters to obtain the requisite forms I and IV, and the survey plan. This cumbersome process contradicts the trend of making services easily accessible. Some staff members at the centre tend to shift blame to the department for not uploading related documents on time, causing further delays. The memorandum presented by the citizens emphasised that everything should be upgraded to ensure efficient service delivery.
