Citizens likely to file complaint against MPT for ‘neglecting’ drifted vessel

VASCO: Vasco citizens are likely to file a complaint against the Mormugao Port Trust for neglecting and failing to take timely action against the unmanned Nu Shi Nalini vessel when it was anchored in the port. 
The vessel is drifted towards Dona Paula causing anxiety to the people, as it contains naphtha. 
It is learnt that a group of likeminded citizens from Vasco and Mormugao will be filing complaint with the Mormugao police station against the MPT for its failure to address Nu Shi Nalini vessel issue and neglecting the safety of the citizens staying in the port town.
When contacted, Congress leader from Vasco Sankalp Amonkar admitted that he and many other citizens from Mormugao and Vasco would file complaint with the police. 
He in his comments stated that from so 
“Since many days, NGOs and the people have been raising their voice about the unmanned vessel, but neither the government authorities nor the port authorities attended to this issue. Now that the vessel has reached near Dona Paula area and is visible from various places, State government is running around to solve the issue. I see this as a total negligence and the lethargic attitude of the authorities concern towards such serious issue. Why do the government authorities wait till the situation becomes worse?” Amonkar questioned.
“I smell a rat in this matter and I feel there was a political pressure behind vessel being kept untouched. That the local MLAs haven’t commented on this issue till date is a big puzzle,” he said.
