Citizens want Ponda roads fixed before Ganesh festival

Ponda: :   Fed up of the problems they face while travelling on the town’s roads, locals from Ponda have called on the authorities to fix the main and interior road before the Ganesh Festival season.

They point out that they have been forced to endure bumpy and dangerous rides for the last three years as the work on laying the sewerage treatment plant network has not been completed. Due to the delay in the STP project, the roads are uneven and sewerage chambers are not covered properly so much so that the tyres of the vehicles are getting damaged every time they go over it.  They added that locals from all over the Ponda constituency visit the town for work and that they will be visiting the shops for festival shopping as well.  Government authorities said that 80 per cent of the STP related work has been completed and that roads at some places have been hotmixed too, except the part where work is still pending.
