MARGAO: Concerned citizens and representatives of various civil organization on Saturday slammed Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardessai for his statement declaring throwing open portions of the frozen Regional Plan 2021 and termed it as sheer “fotting and fottingponn”.
They said the announcement is made to benefit the land sharks and the building lobby and to take advantage of the one month extension granted to the Cabinet Advisory Committee and further cautioned that all applications for conversions will be cleared by April 30, when the CAC deadline expires.
They rejected Vijai’s assurance that only those areas marked as settlement in Regional Plan 2021 that were not contested or objected to would be thrown open for conversion.
