MARGAO: Former ZP chairperson Clafacio Dias bounced back to the South Goa Zilla Panchayat in style, winning from Curtorim by a huge margin and also getting elected his candidate Minaxi Gaonkar from his home constituency Guirdolim.
He, however, disclosed plans to contest the 2017 Assembly election from Cuncolim constituency, but assured the Curtorim voters to continue his work in the constituency.
Clafacio successfully overcame a negative campaign by his opponents in Curtorim on his “outside’ status when he won the seat by a huge margin of 4518 votes. “The people have replied to my political opponents who raised the issue of my outside status. People have voted for me for the development work carried out by in Guirdolim constituency”, he said.
