MARGAO: Ex-sarpanch of Velim Melwyn Sanches has clarified that at the gram saba held on October 29 some queries were raised which he clarified in detail and that people were satisfied with his explanation. Panchayat Secretary Vinita Morajkar added that there were no irregularities of any sort raised as bills and other documents were presented.
“There was a misunderstanding and we may have to invoke Right to information Act to furnish some information sought by the villager,” she said.
Hector Colaco from Velim who had raised the query while privately stating that he was not satisfied with the explanation given by the ex Sarpanch did not say so at the gram sabha and did not prove that there were any wrong doings.
However, present Sarpanch Savio D’Silva admitted that there were very heated discussions over the matter and that the gram sabha got over quite late because of the discussions.
