PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday declared that no exams would be held for students of Class IX and XI. They will be promoted based on their average performance during the year.
“The students will be promoted to Class X or XII based on their annual performance and those who fail will be given one chance to answer supplementary exams,” he said, addressing the media.
The State government had earlier cancelled exams of Class I to Class VIII due to COVID-19 outbreak and also postponed the Class X exams, that had been slated to begin on April 2.
Sawant further ruled out rumours on exams for Class X starting. The government has started a mock test for Class X students, which created confusion amongst students and parents alike. “The online mock test is merely for practice and nothing else,” he said.
He further said that he would not announce SSC exams suddenly. “We will give at least 10-day prior notice for SSC exams,” he said.
