PANJIM: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) will declare the Class XII results on Saturday, which would be a consolidated one adding the first and second term performance. Nearly 18,200 students answered the examination.
The first terminal examination was held from December 8, 2021 to January 11, 2022 for 50 per cent of the portion and the test was in the form of multiple-choice questions.
The second terminal exam was conducted for the remaining 50 per cent of the portion from April 5 onwards and this exam was in form of subjective questions.
This will be the first results to be declared after the Goa Board introduced a special assessment scheme for the academic year 2021-22 in view of pandemic and the same has been extended to the next academic term too.
“A consolidated final result, adding first term and second term performance will be declared on May 21 at 5 pm,” Goa Board chairman Bhagirath Shetye said.
Shetye said that first term marks were declared but no certificate was issued. “The final certificate will be issued now,” he said. In all, 8,925 boys and 9,276 girls answered the examination.
A total of 5,077 students from Science stream, 5,496 students from Commerce, 4,754 from Arts and 2,874 from Vocational appeared for the exam. There were also 21 private candidates.
Last year, the pass percentage was 99.40 per cent, which was based on the internal assessment and special scheme designed to finalise the board result in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
