PANJIM: The Panjim Sessions Court on Friday granted conditional anticipatory bail to Goa Foundation director Claude Alvares in the Mines Department office locking case.
The Court directed Alvares to appear before the Panjim Police between July 2 to 5 for investigation and in case of an arrest he is to be released on a personal bail bond of Rs 10,000.
The Court on Thursday had reserved the order on anticipatory bail application while earlier on Monday had directed the authorities not to arrest Alvares and Rahul Basu till the matter is decided.
Panjim Police had registered an FIR against Alvares and Basu for locking the office and for interrupting government work.
Alvares and Basu had locked the door of the Mines Department and had handed over the keys to Panjim police.
