PANJIM: As part of the nationwide campaign, cleanliness drive was held across the State as part of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ on Sunday, on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, many of his cabinet colleagues and government officials, NGOs participated in the cleanliness drives.
Sawant took part in a drive in Sankhali, his cabinet colleagues, including Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte joined similar programmes at different locations.
The CM flagged off a ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign from Housing Board junction organised by the Sankhali Municipal Council.
Similarly, Rane, along with villagers conducted a cleanliness drive in the jurisdiction of Usgao village panchayat.
Khaunte was seen participating in the campaign at Socorro and Penha de Franca village panchayats and also at the Miramar beach.
Officials from Info Tech Corporation of Goa Limited participated in ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ under Shramdaan mega cleanliness drive held at the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster, Tuem in Pernem Taluka.
Sanjay Centre for Special Education, Porvorim, actively participated in the cleanliness drive at Pundalik Devasthan premises, Porvorim.
Officials and staff of the Secretariat joined the campaign at the Goa Assembly Complex, Porvorim.
Directorate of Information and Publicity (DIP) officials held the mega cleanliness drive held at Azad Maidan in the city.
