Education department has chalked out a detailed plan for the exercise at all government, aided and unaided schools. Students, assisted by staff will engage in cleaning the school premises.
A circular issued by Education Director G P Bhat states that the assistant district education inspectors (ADEIs) will inspect at least two schools in each taluka at random to subsequently submit action report to the department.
In the concluding two days, the institutions will hold campaign-related competitions, talks by eminent personalities while also selecting the cleanest classrooms and best practices. “There is a need to inculcate the spirit of hygiene, cleanliness and aversion to unhygienic conditions in all the children from the initial days of schooling,” the circular reads.
A senior official told Herald that in addition to the ‘plant content’ students will also be taught to follow rules such as throwing waste materials in appropriate dustbins, using school properties appropriately and maintaining school premises/classrooms.
