Clear wayside cables: Camorlim locals

The underground cabling in Camorlim village has not been completed even though it was started eight years ago

CAMORLIM: The issues of unutilised underground cables that are lying along the side of the road and in private properties was raised at the Camorlim gram sabha with a resolution taken to write to the electricity department to clear the village of the same. Locals were enraged with the cables and demanded that the contractor remove the same at the earliest.
Locals called on the panchayat to write to the electricity department and convey how it has been inconveniencing the villagers. It is to be noted that the underground cabling has not yet been completed despite having being initiated eight years ago.
The issues of street lights not functioning was also raised and the in the letter to the electricity department, it was demanded that the two permanent electricity linesmen are stationed at the village to attend to their complaints.
In view of the fear of vector borne diseases, the gram sabha called for fogging and spraying activities to be carried out in the village and also asked the health department to conduct tests on the drinking water supplied by the PWD. 
The locals also demanded that the panchayat resolves the issue of Tembi residential area where water logging takes place.
