Close call with life for family at Charasta

CANACONA: The Mudkulkar family staying at Charasta in Canacona had a close call with life, as they discovered a leak in their LPG cylinder in the early hours of Sunday. 
Immediately, the fire brigade and the dealer were alerted and the leaking cylinder was removed to the relief of everyone around.
Sources at Canacona Fire and Emergencies station said that they received a call from control room, Panjim that a domestic LPG gas cylinder in the house of Krishna Mudkulkar of Charasta has developed a hole and gas was effusing out.
Immediately, a fire tender with duty crew was dispatched and the leaking cylinder was removed to safety, they said.
Sources present at the site revealed that the cylinder was found rusted and there was a small hole on the anterior side of the cylinder.
When the family members awoke early Sunday morning, they detected a strange odour and sounds of gas leaking from the gas cylinder and and alerted the police control room.
