“We will witness different types of disasters in the State of Goa in the coming days. We have also noticed a few forces from other states making their entry in the State. We all have been hearing about the natural disasters but now will experience the man-made disasters. Several forces are trying to create a disaster in Goa, and hence people must remain alert,” said CM after inaugurating the PSA oxygen plant installed under PM Cares Funds at ESI hospital, Margao. He was accompanied by Revenue Minister Jennifer Monseratte, Medical Superintendent of ESI hospital Dr Vishwajit Phaldesai among others.

Sawant further said it is true that the government had to depend on other States for the supply of oxygen for some period of time.
“There was a time when we were literally waiting to see the arrival of oxygen supply from the neighbouring states like Maharashtra and Karnataka, as I was personally monitoring the situation along with other officials. But today with the help of Prime Minister Narendra Modi we managed to establish the PSA plant in ESI hospital, besides at other places in Goa. Now, we can generate the oxygen required for the health services”, he s said.
Appreciating the hard efforts of the medical staff of ESI hospital, he said that ESI was the first COVID hospital in Goa to handle the COVID positive cases, and the medical staff were able to tackle this situation very sincerely. They managed to give their services at the time when people also did not know about the COVID virus.
Staff needs a lot of appreciation. We need to work unitedly in order to win over situations like the COVID pandemic.
