CM announces grants-in-aid for Ayurvedic and Homeopathic colleges in Shiroda

PONDA: During the 30th-anniversary celebration of Shiroda Ayurved Mahavidyalaya and Research Centre, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced grants-in-aid for Gomantak Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya and Research Centre and Shri Kamakshidevi Homeopathic Medical College, both situated in Shiroda.

Sawant highlighted the opportunities provided by the National Education Policy 2020 for the establishment of professional colleges. He acknowledged the success of Ayurvedic graduates, noting that 90 percent of them have established their clinics and ventured into diverse fields, including business and international practice in places like Dubai.

The CM added that Homeopathy graduates have excelled in clearing the Goa Public Service Commission examinations, and have joined the State government as Junior Scale Officers. Encouraging the students, Sawant emphasised the importance of not only providing treatment but also offering guidance on preventive measures to maintain healthy habits.

The event, attended by WRD Minister and Local MLA Subash Shirodkar, College Chairman Narendra Savoikar, Secretary Gajanan Bakhle, Principal Dr Anura Bale, Shiroda Sarpanch Mugdha Shirodkar, and Dr Mahesh Verlekar, marked a significant milestone for the institutions.
