PORVORIM: CM Pramod Sawant urged Speaker Rajesh Patnekar to appoint a translator in the House after NCP MLA Churchill Alemao complained that he did not understand the conversation in Marathi between Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and MGP MLA Sudin Dhavalikar.
To this, Sawant said, “We are speaking in Hindi, Marathi, English and you never know, a day will come when we will have people speaking Kannada here,” he quipped while opposing Alemao’s remark that Marathi should not be used on the floor of the House.
As the legislators burst out in laughter, Dhavlikar backed the CM who too sought a Marathi translator.
