CHORAO: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has assured to take strict action against the person who filed a fake complaint against women self help groups in Madel-Chorao.
About 40 women from four self help groups from Madel-Chorao had submitted a memorandum to Parrikar at the Secretariat demanding action against the accused.
The women from four self help groups have also filed a complaint with Old Goa Police and a compliant copyhas been sent to MLA Anant Shet and the Women’s Police Cell at Panjim.
In their complaint, the women stated that they strongly object to the allegation and claimed that the school premises are not used for prostitution, gambling and liquor parties, as per the complaint made to the Chief Minister, Governor, IGP and the Education Director.
After conducting inquiry, it has come to light that the ‘complainant’ who filed the fake complaint is reported to have expired some 6 to 7 years back.
The delegation included Chorao Sarpanch Divya Usapkar, SHGs presidents Pratima Kundaikar, Sonia Salgaoncar, Shrijaya Haldankar, Olive Fernandes and Adv Harsha Naik.
