CM assures to resolve pending demands of horticulture workers

PANJIM: Following protests by the union workers of Goa State Horticulture Corporation (GSHC) outside the Corporation’s Head Office at Tonca, Caranzalem on Monday, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant gave an assurance to the protestors that the State government will address their pending demands shortly.
“The Chief Minister assured us that the government will discuss their demands with all stakeholders within 15 days and arrive at an amicable solution,” said Union leader Ajitsingh Rane while speaking to the media persons.
The Corporation Managing Director also assured the agitating workers that their issues will be resolved within 15 to 20 days, most likely before Ganesh Chaturthi. The 210-member-strong union conveyed their demands to the government, which includes, regularisation of services, enhanced wages as per 7th Pay Commission, temporary status to 41 contract workers amongst other such pleas.
It may be recalled that last month, the Union had given a 21-day strike notice to the government.
