CM calls for all-party meeting today

PANJIM: Amidst rising COVID-19 cases in Goa, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has called for an all-party meeting, on Monday.

Opposition Leader Digambar Kamat and Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai took to Twitter to inform about the meeting while taking a pot shot at the government in view of spike in cases.

Kamat insisted for white paper on financial status of Goa and the COVID-19 pandemic from the government during the meeting.

“The Congress Party is clear from day one on community testing and providing financial support to marginalised sector. We will insist on immediate action from the government during all-party meeting convened by the Chief Minister,” he tweeted.

Kamat’s post further read, “We will also ask the Government to release White Paper on Financial Status of Goa and Covid Pandemic. The Government needs to follow Strict Austerity Measures by stopping all sorts of Celebrations.”

Sardesai alleged that the meeting is a photo opportunity by Chief Minister, but has confirmed his presence at the meet scheduled at 4 pm on Monday.

“After 300 confirmed cases in #Goa & after fiascos including #LabourGateScam @goacm belatedly convens all party meet tomorrow @ 4 PM. Is it too little too late? Or just a photoop to show all were taken into confidence? Or plain sharing responsibility for failure? But will attend!” the GFP president posted.

However, there was no official intimation from the CMO to the media about the meeting.
