CM meets Union Home Minister in New Delhi
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and briefed him on the preparedness of the State to tackle the second wave of coronavirus pandemic.
Sawant also discussed various other issues pertaining to the State with the Union Home Minister.
Speculation was rife in Goa as the Chief Minister air-dashed to the national capital a few hours before Goa Assembly Speaker Rajesh Patnekar was to pronounce his orders on two separate disqualification petitions against 12 rebel MLAs, who had joined BJP.
However, BJP leaders and a few MLAs said the Chief Minister had left for New Delhi to apprise the party’s central leadership about the political situation in the State and the measures taken by his government to tackle the coronavirus second wave in the State.
